Architectural Window Film in Palo Alto, CA

Eichler Glass, Solved.

Palo Alto’s mid-century homes live behind walls of glass. Architectural film keeps the light and the look — and finally loses the heat.

Our Architectural Advantage

Architectural Window Film Benefits

Mid-century light. Modern physics.

Palo Alto’s Eichlers are famous for floor-to-ceiling glass — glorious light, brutal heat. Green Living Remodeling installs spectrally-selective architectural film that preserves the transparency the architecture depends on while rejecting solar heat and blocking the UV that fades floors and furniture, in Eichlers and classic Old Palo Alto homes alike.

Film pairs beautifully with Window Shades & Blinds — and many Palo Alto clients meet us through Kitchen Remodeling.

Common Questions

Clear /
Answers.

Your architectural window film questions, answered. We provide the clarity you need to plan with confidence.

Is window film appropriate for an Eichler?
It’s arguably the most Eichler-appropriate upgrade there is: the glass walls stay visually exactly as designed, while the film quietly removes most of the solar heat and UV coming through them. No frames touched, no architecture changed.
Will the film darken my rooms or change the view?
Modern spectrally-selective films are nearly invisible. They target infrared heat and UV while letting visible light through — rooms stay bright, views stay true, and the glass simply works better.
How much heat does window film actually reject?
Quality architectural films reject a substantial share of total solar energy — enough that west-facing rooms stop overheating and the AC stops fighting the windows every afternoon. We’ll recommend the right film for each exposure.
Does window film protect furniture from fading?
Yes — film blocks essentially all UV at the glass, which is the main driver of fading in floors, rugs, art, and upholstery. It’s the single best protection you can give an interior you’ve invested in.
Is window film better than replacing windows?
For heat, glare, UV, and privacy, film delivers most of the benefit at a fraction of the cost and disruption of replacement — especially on large or architectural glazing you’d never want to change.
How long does installation take, and how durable is it?
Most homes are completed in a day. Professionally installed architectural film is optically clear, doesn’t peel or bubble when properly applied, and is backed by the manufacturer’s warranty alongside our own workmanship warranty.
What warranty applies?
Our 1-Year Workmanship Warranty covers the installation, alongside the film manufacturer’s product warranty. We’re fully insured and bonded.
